No, it's not based on opinion at all. It's based on a veritable mountain of scientific studies and failed attempts at creating drugs/chemicals that have the desired effect. Opinion doesn't bend me out of shape - scientific illiteracy (and actual illiteracy, I had to LOL with you Emily) bends me out of shape.
To answer Hannah's question: you can always go for the hard stuff like the active ingredient in Rogaine which will prevent hair fall. The patent has expired on it so it's available in other products as well. But...if you're looking for a more over-the-counter solution, there is a small body of evidence that suggests caffeine applied topically has some effect on preventing hair loss. Though honestly, eventually, your hair WILL fall out because a new hair is going to replace it, so you can't really eliminate it totally...you just delay it and by the time that becomes necessary, your hair is not likely to be in anaphase and actively growing anyway. If you're losing hair at a higher rate than maybe 75-100 a day, there is probably an underlying health problem that's causing it.
Bianka...what exactly is this miracle product that you slathered on your hair to make it grow faster? Show me the ingredients list and I will happily explain to you why it's BS.

I don't usually count my hair that falls out. (Lol) but thanks Stephanie!

Believe me, if you lost more than that, you'd notice without counting! lol

Stephanie you are completely correct. There's a certain rate at which your body produces keratin that cannot be sped up in any way. You can only bring it back up to speed with good health :D

Stephanie is right there is nothing that can make your hair grow faster. Most products are aimed at preventing loss and keeping your current hair healthy. If you are not getting enough vitamin, too much stress, or are doing damaging things to your hair you probably wil have hair loss. When you realize your hair is thinning or looking bad....you start to avoid those habits hence the illusion that your hair is growing faster. Biotin is great for your hair and only prevents hair loss. Best thing is to take care of what you currently got!

If you bloody feel like it is possible to grow your hair faster, then believe it! If you think it's impossible, keep bloody thinking it dammit! Because women are right, all the time, right?

I don't care if your a hair dresser or not. People come on here for advice and sharing beauty tips. Don't get pissy because people want to know why their hair isn't growing fast. Most people mean by any means possible, as in how do I get it healthy again so it will stop breaking and grow? My hair hasn't grown an inch in months because of the damage and I feel like I've just done everything. I've finally found a 'growth stimulating shampoo' that is making my hair healthier than any trim has and it's growing, in turn. People aren't asking that. So cool. Different opinions on what growing faster entails. If you don't like it, delete the app because none of us care what you don't like people posting when they have honest questions for people who will know.

There are ways you can get your point across in a civil manner. There's no reason to act so self righteous.

I agree with Stephanie. Hair growth doesnt happen by slathering anything in your hair, or taking magic vitamins. From a medical perspective, its genetics. Also, if your hair is healthy of course it will grow faster, theres no obstructions from the folicle to slow it down. MANY people have suggested prenatal vitamins/supplements for hair growth which is false. When youre pregnant, hair growth rate is heightened. The vitamins are to keep hair, skin, nails, ect... healthy. If you take them not pregnant, you most likely wont get as fast of a growth, but you will possibly get healthier hair, promoting growth. No magic hair mayo will do that.

Correction: you can, there is a way of helping your hair to grow, by keeping it healthy, hair that is chemically treated and exposed to a lot of heat will stunt the growth, also other things like a poor diet and lack of hydration or stress etc.By avoiding all those things and doing the opposite will encourage hair to grow and making it in much better condition in order to grow.

Grow faster no, but grow yes. A healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, avoid over styling and excessive heat. These are all ways of protecting your hair so that it does grow more healthy and less prone to breakage. I pretty much agree that the tone came off wrong. Beauty is supposed to be fun.

All of you saying she's not right and you can stimulate hair to grow faster are actually saying the same thing she did. You can not "speed it up" but you can take care of your hair with oils, trims, and so forth to help it grow stronger and longer. The speed part is genetics. Yes I'm a hairstylist as well, friends.

Damaged hair will stunt the growth, healthy hair will make it grow as normal
