Conditioner Only. Step away from the shampoo bottle. They contain salts and sulfates in large quantities that dry your hair and irritate your scalp, especially if you wash every day or every other day as most people do.
Drugstore conditioners contain surfactants in much smaller amounts - amounts that are enough to clean your hair, but won't dry it out. Many, many people have restored their curl and the overall condition of their hair by CO washing. Check out long hair and curly hair online communities if you want more feedback on this. There was actually a whole book written on it that...I think...was called the Curly Girl Method.

SunKissAlba on YouTube has REALLY good tips for naturally curly hair! I lost my curl pattern from all the heat damage I was doing and watching her videos and using some of the products and methods brought my curls back to life. Try to stay away from products with silicones, alcohol, sulfates and parabens. Shea moisture is the brand I use and my curls have never looked better! The book Stephanie is talking about can be found in amazon for $10 and it was one of the best investments I ever made!

The night before wash your hair etc. then make sure before you do this your hair needs to be damp x
1- Seperate your hair into 1/2 then Seperate each side tot make a sum of 4-plait these-
2- All you have to do is tie them (with elastic's)
3- the next morning take them out and they should be fine, natural looking curls without the need to use hairspray!

I'm a hairstylist, have your hair trimmed and layers cut in they do not need to be short, about 1 too 2 inches shorter than your length, ask your hair dresser to club cut your layers, this increases the hairs tendancey to curl and allow your hair to dry on its own.
also curl and wave serums and conditioners are fantastic! defo a must have
