Hi, I'm considering changing my hair color to this. I'm naturally ashy blonde, but have been red for a couple years now. I'd like something that I can let grow for a while and that has some color variation for depth. I'm thinking of using a light ash brown as the "base" with magenta and blonde highlights. So, what do you think?

I think it has too many colors for something you can let grow for a while. I mean if you're going to let it grow, half of your hair is going to be varying shades of purple and the other half will be ash blonde and develop gold highlights with sun exposure the longer you let it grow. If you want to do this, you have to be super committed to maintenance...and there will be a LOT of maintenance, because direct dyes that give you the unnatural hair colors fade fast and are *almost* impossible to dye over or remove.

Yeah, I'm all about the maintenance now unfortunately. With the flat red, I get blonde roots at about 4 weeks. Then I look crazy for a couple weeks until I color them. Ugh! Red. ;) Thanks Stephanie!
