Oval nails are very classy, but if your going for a nail art design as well I usually prefer squared tips for that.

I think it really depends on the shape of your fingers. Everyone asks me why I don't have my nails in an oval shape. My fingertips are more squared, so I find that a slightly rounded square looks best on me. You gotta work with what you have. :)
