Get some cuticle oil & apply twice a day or as often as you can. Massage in each nail & the surrounding skin, it will help increase circulation to the nail bed and stimulate new nail growth. As the nails grow, they will become more flexible and resilient. You can buy it in boots etc.x

never heard of lemon, wouldn't the acidity make it more brittle? i have heard of garlic though. like dig your nails.into a clove or crush one in water and soak your nails. not sure if you'd like.to smell like garlic though.

My nails do this too. I work in a tough environment so I noticed that if I keep my nails painted it reduces the splitting. As they grow, the splitting will be reduced. I have to paint my nails once a week...
