My skin tends to be kind of oily, but when I wash my face twice a day like is suggested it gets really dry and itchy. But once a day it's still really oily... Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this problem?

mix baking soda with water in a small bowl until you have a pasty substance, then apply it to your face twice a day until the past starts drying every other day. it minimizes the look of pores and helps with oily skin.

my skin is very dry,so I have to keep it hydrated. Drinking lots of water help my skin look more nourished and hydrated. I make sure I moisturize day and night.

Cleansing twice a day is important - try a ph balancing cleanser like bareMinerals purifying facial cleanser. I love it & it keeps me from feeling itchy & uncomfortable!

Coconut oil in the evening and a face wash in the morning. It works wonders!

Massage a dap of coconut oil into your skin every night. Using an oil is a truly thorough cleanse. Remove the residue with a warm damp flannel and that's it! In the morning use a face wash and with damp cotton pads soaked in witch hazel wipe all over the face.

Yes philosophy, the gel. It's better for comb skin and you will never ever get that tight feeling after washing. It will cleanse, remove eye makeup, tone, and hydrate your skin! I love it

Taking one primrose oil capsule a day helped my skin tremendously! I tried taking three a day like advised and it made my skin too oily, one is perfect, I still wash my face twice a day but use much less moisturizer not only on my face but the rest of my body as well, makes my skin soft and glowing! I've also heard of people using the oil as a topical on the face before bed at night, I haven't tried that yet though because taking it orally works for me!

I don't think it's tremendously necessary to use a cleanser in the morning. The purpose of cleanser is to remove makeup and other grime that ends up on your face during the day. Overnight? Not so much, unless you use an overnight mask or thick night cream.
To just take the oil off that you produced overnight, a mild toner (alcohol free if your skin is sensitive) followed by a light moisturizer works well.

Sounds like your face wash is drying you out, what do you use? Also is the water you use too hot?

@Claire it wasn't advice I got from here and I don't use dry soap or alcohol -___-
@Carmen I use Hill Country Essentials face wash :) sorry for the late reply 😖

@Sara K: I'm unfamiliar with Hill country face wash, but generally speaking, foaming cleanser or anything that makes you “squeaking clean” is not good (I live Cetaphil gentle cleanser/Fresh soy cleanser) , if you feel like yours is gentle AND does the cleaning job well, the issue is probably on your moisturizer instead of the cleanser, try to add a hydrating serum (i love caudalie thirsting quenching serum) before your regular moisturizer. Other tips: Avoid using hot water, use a humidifier if heating is strong. Wish it helps!

Best advice oily or not less is more! Do not over wash!
