Today we had a nice "morning" celebration in my kids school, i'm from middle east by the way ☺
Here, most of us are talented in makeup, especially eye makeup and all that black lines and shades
But today i really didn't like what i saw, young mamas are getting faaar over the top !
Makeup is meant to add more charm to the female but nowadays women are mixing up all looks ending with a messy face
Shiny red lips at 9:00 am ?! Oily faces with a thick foundation and gloss, glitter, contouring, 😰etc
Nice clean skin is the best ever, it makes the girl\mama looks years younger
My makeup was deep black pencile eyeliner with mascara + natural lip color gloss and sun block that adds lovely brightness to the skin tone .. and Thats it
Fresh and clean is the best 😊

to each their own. I don't think makeup has to please others. it has to make me happy.

Who needs shiny red lips at nine in the morning when you can have blue?

heck yes. I love a good blue lip!

That's the best thing about makeup. What you like others may not & vice versus. Like Cassandra said, to each their own. Some days I'll go out with simple makeup others I'll be all made up just to go to the store. Others shouldn't care about what pleases someone else.

I'm not talking about pleasing others
it is about choosing what makes you look good, respecting time and place
Halloween makeup for school's parents gathering is inappropriate !!

Not saying I agree or disagree, but why is there a sudden limitation on what one can do once they have brought a child into the world. Just curious on that thought.... :)

And red (whether matte or shimmery) lip isn't a bad thing, even at 9AM, hahahaha. Nobody turns their head and stares at me when I've got a red lip on in the early hours. I've never seen it happen to anyone else either. I think people take makeup and the time a little too seriously. Thick foundations & oily faces and just thick foundations in general just don't mix though. I agree with that one. Not a time issue though. Just... a flat out issue in general.

Everyone has different standards. What one person does may be too much makeup in YOUR opinion but to them it's not. They have may have their own limitations for school functions for their children & may feel as if it hasn't been reached for them.

Also. NancyValentino is a mother, does makeup videos on YouTube, and does a full face of makeup every day she wears makeup. Looks flawless as f. Absolutely beautiful and I see no wrong.
Then again, we're sitting here replying to somebody that lives in the middle east and the middle east has different standards when it comes to women (... not necessarily too craaazy different from standards in some ways in the USA, heh heh, thank you, society, but... yeah.)

I really can't stand the thought process that makeup "rules" are something set in stone. Makeup I'd an art and it should make the wearer happy first and foremost. If it happens to make other people happy then bonus. I may not like how other people do their makeup but I'm bot gonna be Judgey McJudgepants on them cause its not my face. I'm prolly one of those mamas you don't like lol, cause I sure do rock a Smokey eye at 10 in the am and I don't curr.

I somewhat agree. I hate the cakey over done look. We aren't Barbies. Obviously for going out tons of makeup is fine but everyday?? No.
It just looks like your trying to one up the hooker on the street corner.

If it makes them happy then so be it! I can't help my thought process.
And those who say they don't judge others are flat out lying. It's in our nature, even if you have a negative thought and then realize it was rude.

Eh, I don't like the "going out" argument because according to society, going out is: going to the club or out to dinner or just going out at night with your friends and I don't have fiends, or a going out life, or any of that social stuff so my smokey eyes and bold eyes and lips are done when I'm at the mall by myself, the bookstore cafe, the store, etc. lol Doing those little things by myself wouldn't be "going out" in most people's eyes but I'm not gonna not wear them everyday and wait until I get that life... if ever, hahaha.

No I agree with that. I'm pregnant so I'm not gonna be up in the club.
When I go visit friends or go out to dinner or some sort of event that is out of the normal or even to a mall is 'going' out for me.
What I mean is those girls that can't be seen without makeup and wear TONS of it even when they are at home alone or going to the gym.
Jan 10, 2013
Rikki P.
Oh lawd, the gym. I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE GYM. I mean, if the gym is your last errand of the day, alright. No need in wasting gas going home, washing it off, and then wasting more gas driving back, blah blah blah. But... aaah, "let's put on a full face for the gym!"
Sweat and makeup don't mix. o.o *shudders*

Ya when I was a teenager I wore tons of makeup to school (crazy smokey eyes that were super colourful) but doing your makeup like James st James everyday doesn't appeal to me at all anymore.

I never said I don't judge, I know I do but I keep that opinion to myself and I don't offer it up unless I'm asked. What I don't agree with the OP is that their is a certain way to do makeup. There isn't everyone has different tastes. I like to have bolder makeup even when I'm doing mundane things cause I don't "go out" and doing my makeup is a treat even it doesn't seem appropriate for the time. If some don't like it, then that's fine I never said people aren't allowed to have their opinions.

No I think a woman (or dude) should do what makes them feel good and confident when they walk out the door. Whether that's red glitter lipstick, no makeup at all, or a chador or beard. Everyone has the right to feel empowered by thier own sense of style regardless of whether it fits my personal taste or not. To mess with thier confidence is not okay.

I think it's nice to use the fine china even if its just me and i think its fine to do your full makeup if youre just lounging at home by yourself.

Lol what's wrong with red lips in the morning? They weren't dressed inappropriately I'm guessing so what's the big deal
