Skater dress help!

I have a coral colored skaters dress and I don't know how to wear it with out looking like a giant baby. I dress pretty modestly and would wear tights under and a cardigan. I only wore white it once last year for a presentation with tights that went right past my knees and one inch heeled sandals. Pictures appreciated.

I think it would look cute with a black cardigan and black belt like the one in the picture.
To make it more casual, a denim jacket would be cute as well :)

I have one identical. I wore similar coloured suede sandals which had a 3" heel and a 1" platform which were covered in rope, it looked really pretty :)
