I need a new foundation.

Long story ahead...

I work in the kitchen of a nursing home...I move around a lot, and sometimes can get a little sweaty from the warm temperatures inside the building (elderly and their poor circulations, you know). I currently use L'Oreal True Match. Barely halfway through the day, using a primer (Maybelline Master Prime, the one for redness (which honestly doesn't do squat for redness)) and setting my makeup with a powder (the True Match pressed powder), my makeup cakes up on my face and looks just awful, mainly on my chin and my nose.

I use a damp beautyblender when I do my foundation and use a stippling brush when I need more coverage on my cheeks. I've also tried using my fingers, various types of brushes, applying powder before my foundation, you name it.

I know you're not supposed to use foundation on your whole face but I do...my face is so red and the tone is just crap that I need full coverage. True Match doesn't give me full coverage but whenever I've used a thicker foundation (such as MUFE Mat Velvet...hated it, it caked awful on my skin) it looked worse. True Match is one of very few brands that have shades pale enough for my skin (I'm W1 Porcelain...I know in MAC color I'm NC15? Their lightest shade)

So basically, I need a foundation I can wear during the day that can withstand humidity and sweat. Suggestions for a better primer (I've used Hourglass Mineral Veil before, didn't seem to make a difference with my cake factor) and setting powder are welcome too. I have oily skin. BB/CC creams are out of the question, they don't give me enough coverage and they slip off of my face. Any other suggestions about how I can change my routine to keep my foundation in place are also welcome.

Cakiness usually has to do with application problems... With the MUFE mat velvet you only really need a pea sized amount for your WHOLE face and that's usually enough to achieve medium coverage - but if you need more in certain areas you can build it up but you still have to blend it out - and the hourglass is amazing imo - but once again you only need a pea size amount for the whole face - the higher end products are typically much higher pigmented than drugstore products so less is more - but if you didn't like the MUFE have you tried Estée Lauder double wear? The maximum cover in the blue tube is great for full coverage that feels lightweight - you can pair it with the hourglass or the EL matte primer also works well too

My favorite long lasting foundations are the MAC studio fix fluid they also have NC10 and NC13 if you need a lighter color than the NC15. Also try the new maybelline matte and Poreless.
