I started off with $12 ebay brushes but they came with 32 brushes and I actually still have a few and they have lasted me so far two years then I bought a 22 piece set from coastal scents that I use everytime now and I will say they are nice and get the job done but are over priced and would only get them if they are having a sale I am going to be buying morphe brushes because I find I can get more brushes for less and then I would like to start splurging on better quality brushes like Wayne goss and rachel morris but I think if you could I woukd buy a fluffy blending brush like mac 217 I have it and I love it soo much an angled liner brush and maybe a fine detailer brush I hope I helped you and not too over the place.

How stiff/soft are your brushes? I find that a short fluffy brush is really good for blending. I use one brush just for blending and others for applying. you should check out the Eco Tools set. I love their brushes.

For a set, I recommend trying BH Cosmetics (thats what I have) or Coastal Scents. They are cheap but pretty good brushes, especially when you are trying to build up a collection. I personally like them over Eco Tools and Real Techniques.
