I was wondering if I should invest in a contour pallet or just buy a darker shade of powder to use for contouring and a lighter shade to use for highlighting. I'm not big on contouring or highlighting but I want to start and I feel like I'd get a better value from buying powders instead a pallet.

Personally, I think that's way too much product, if you're not like a makeup artist or something who works on various skin tones lol. I think you'd be well off purchasing a product on its own :)

^^ I agree. I see no need to have more than one contour colour. Just get KA sculpting powder or nyx powder Blush in taupe and a lighter powder or lighter concealer for highlighter.

I agree with Renay. The average gal who isn't a MUA truly needs one contour product not a palette of several shades. I refuse to fall for the insanity of the contour craze by buying a palette. While I don't knock those who do buy them...myself personally I rely on my natural contour and just ultilize highlighters more than anything.

I agree with Renay. Plus, loads of these palettes have very orangey/warm basically bronzers as contour shades.

I would just buy a single shade. I have the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette and only use one of the contour shades. The others are way too dark for my skin tone. I'm planning on purchasing Kevyn Aucoin's sculpting powder. For the highlights in the KVD palette, I prefer my NARS albatross over them.
In my opinion, buying the palette wasn't worth the price

I feel like I get better results with liquid and setting powder than with a palette.

Try the contour palette that wet and wild just came out with. It's like $2-$3. I love it and it works great. I believe it comes in two shades it's only available online or at Walmart. It's great for people that don't want a full on palette and for people that don't want to pay too much!

I purchased one of them but I wasn't to thrilled about it. I did notice they had another one maybe the mother one will work better for me. I don't know which on I purchased but the dark shade was barley noticeable on me 😕
