I've been so into dewy skin looks lately and I really want to try it out but I have oily skin so I don't want to look like an oil slick. Could I even do a dewy skin look with my oily skin? What products or techniques would I need to achieve a proper dewy skin but not oily look?

I think thatd be really hard to find something to give that effect since you have oily skin. most people with oily skin want a matte effect

That's what I was thinking, Shaundi, but I figured I'd ask anyways just in case it was possible. Thank you! (:

I think it'd be possible if you used a liquid high lighter...

Hmm I have normal skin myself, but I find that when I finish of my face and then apply a setting spay it gives me kind of that dewy finish - I know many brands make setting sprays to give a dewy finish, so maybe that could be worth a try! Nyx have one that is very affordable :)

I was going to say what Sabrina said. NYX dewy finish was amazinnnnnggggg when I had it. We don't havr it here and I wish it was available it was my hg product. So basically you can wear a matte foundation as usual with your powder, then use a little highlighter and top with that spray!!

Thank you so much, everyone! I'll look into the NYX setting spray and a liquid luminizer (:

I'm oily & hate matte faces. I do exactly what Jacqueline said. I like the elf facial whip to mix in with foundation but I use it on it's own since I don't wear foundation.

Thank you, Dereanna! I'll look into that as well (:

Same ^ I HATE extreme matte finishes. I personally use prime before with an oil controlling primer, use a dewy foundation, and only set my oiliness area (tzone)

I have oily skin as well and sometimes I do what Jackie suggest or I'll press into my skin with ByTerry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder just in my t-zone. That stuff mattes my skin just right and creates a nice barrier to control the oil. Then I go in with Dior Star foundation...again...just applying in my t-zone with a damp BeautyBlender. I give it a few minutes and then go in with setting powder. Next I may go with either my Guerlain Meteorites powder or an Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder. I don't apply all over...just in key spots such as my cupids bow, brow bone, cheekbones. Nothing crazy insane. Then the icing on the cake to finish it off is a quick spritz of Smashbox Primer Water or a spray that my daughter concocted herself. It takes away any harshness that might be present. I only have to blot once during the day just on my nose but that's common for me regardless.

Thank you, Shelley! (: I have a lot of researching on products to do!

Foe me personally my skin will just naturally get that dewy look since I have oily skin. If I want that dewy look I use my L'Oreal True Match foundation. At first my face has a matte/satin finish but within a couple hours my face is nice and dewy on my cheekbones and nose.

Lol, Alex, I definitely can't do that. I just look shiny, messy, and gross :P.

I do know there's a tutorial for this on YouTube by "stillglamorus" I haven't tried it out for myself though! @Jacqueline, is it possible to mix liquid luminizer with whipped creme foundation? Or is it only to mix with liquid foundation?

Thanks, Nikki! (:

You could use an illuminating powder. My favorite one is the CoverFX illuminating setting powder in light.

Carsam, I already use a powder highlighter but it doesn't give me the all over glow like a dewy skin look does, but thank you!
