I use a stipple brush! it's what works for me, although you can use a variety of brushes :)

For cream products, synthetic brushes are the way to go! I actually prefer to dab the product on my skin with my fingers and blend away with a sponge ☺

Jacqueline. is the brush you suggested smaller than the usual flat top brushes?
