So, I always bring my full kit when I do people's makeup, because most of the time I'm doing at 3-4 people's. But this Monday I'm doing an 8th graders makeup for her dance, and I was wondering, would it be unprofessional if I didn't bring a kit and only brought what I needed? I just feel awkward brining a makeup bag, it seems like I'm just using my own makeup. I'd love to hear your response.

If you know what you are going to need, just take that. Put everytthing in a make up bag, it must look organized and profesional, that's it :)

I agree with Sadiya :) bring what you need as long as it looks clean and profession.

I'm in 8 grade, & I would be impressed if you bought the whole kit, even if you didn't use all of it. but it's up to you if you feel comfortable doing that or not. also, I would ask if they would like to know how you are applying the makeup, since most 8 graders wear makeup. have fun!

I have a travel bag specifically made for makeup, if you only want to take part of your kit I would invest in one rather than just owning a roller bag. Personally I use my travel bag more often.

I would just take a small train case, that way it looks professional, and you'll have everything organized!

I agree with Sadie! I've got a large rolling train case as well as a smaller one (mine is two in one but I used to just have a big and a small train case) cases look more professional and organized. From a makeup artist standpoint I couldn't imagine feeling organized with just one makeup bag and no compartments and from a client standpoint I don't think I'd feel comfortable getting my makeup done out of a makeup bag as it would look unprofessional.

I never carry my entire kit, I like to know what a client wants before hand so I only bring the things I need.
