So I haven't had a purse for a while and not being able to buy one, I used a pair of old jeans. Let me know what you think!

I braided strips of the jeans to make the handle, put a "phone" pocket inside along with some blue lining.

Thank you Liv! Love that name by way.

Yeah I didn't like at first either, I think I mostly like it because I made it lol took me all day

I wish I was crafty 😭 I think I would just trim the loose strings and seal them with clear nail polish so that it all looks neater 😊

You are crafty! I just looked at your pics omg they're awesome. I didn't really want it neat but now that you mention it the actual purse is thrown off by it isn't it?? I didn't expect it to come out like that I did the handle first lol So I just paint it with nail polish?

Wow you're super creative... I'm. Impressed lol. Its not a style that I personally like that much but its can look super cute with a casual outfit.

Cute! Jean purses were always popular when I was growing up; whenever we had a pair we couldn't wear anymore, we'd chop off the legs, sew the holes shut, sew a zipper in the waist and make a strap out of the leg. Sometimes we would use lace or calico (or a bedazzler or puffy paint) on the butt pockets to make it even more custom.

You know thinking back on it I had a whole closet filled with them. Welcome to my childhood: 1. Make jorts. 2. Turn jorts into tote bag. 3. Decorate into oblivion with every 90s cliche using previously mentioned craft goods. 4. Wear it to the mall with a bucket hat and those hideous chunky leather sandals with the thick black soles and the weird toe strap that weighed 5000 pounds.

Mmm I would add like a fringe to it to make it look more finished, but still you did an amazing job!

I don't like fringe but thank you Kattya!

Oh lordy, I need to stop going on the internet at 3am. Sorry about my weird nostalgia trip!

Really, it is cute. I like the basket weave pattern, I've seen some expensive purses made from reclaimed seat belts in that same style. If you aren't liking the strap, you can try braiding pieces of an old tee shirt instead, or using an old chain belt or wallet chain (if you ever had one of those). Or even shortening the strap can make it look a little different and seem less hairy.

Yeah those are good ideas. it's no problem I'm pretty nostalgic myself. I was thinking the two different designs don't really go together but I can easily switch the handle.
