Okay so I recently have this new phase of not wearing a lot of foundation because my pores under my eyes are hudge I have tried the maybeline baby face pore eraser and I thought it was working but I thought wrong I still don't like my end result. I need help. I want a good foundation but not cakey and a good cream contour kit. Any suggestions. Also need a good highlighter. I have been using the ben Nye setting powder and want to stick with that.

I have very huge pores but I just use the smashbox pore minimizing primer with the NARS all day luminous weightless foundation and you can't even see my pores (:
the foundation doesn't emphasize my pores or fine lines.
for highlighter I use the soft and gentle mineralized skin finish by MAC

Does your foundation give you a dewy finish?

Well it is called luminous, lol.
it gives me a glowly/luminous look which I love.
It doesn't make my face look flat like matte foundations do

I actually find the Nars all day luminous to be quite matte and can emphasise pores and fine lines if you don't really prep your skin well. Personally I prefer sheer glow in their foundations or their tinted moisturiser which actually has very good coverage.

For pores I quite like benefit's porefessional just patted onto the areas I need it.

Contour and highlight wise, for contour if you're pale try illamasqua cream pigment in hollow. And for highlight I like the kevyn aucoin candlelight celestial powder.

Foundation: find one that will make you luminous because they are much more natural and I think the finish is much more flattering. I love the loreal true match lumi. it's about $10 and is medium build able coverage.

cream contour: I personally don't own any, but I've heard great things about the one from anastasia, smash box, and nyx

uh rebecca.. are you sure that's the NARS all day luminous?? because it isn't matte at ALL nor does it emphasize my pores or fine lines.

Yeah definitely Les! It sits okay in my oily tzone but any creases where I frown or smile it settles into them and it doesn't like my "normal" skin areas. Definitely is a matte finish too.

What are you using alongside it? Maybe I'm using the wrong products with it?

I just use it with a smashbox primer.
but I have huge pores and it doesn't emphasize it which is actually the first foundation that I've tried that doesn't lol.
but I'm 100% positive it isn't matte because I haven't been liking matte foundations, if anything it's a natural finish.
so it isn't matte but it lets the oils show in the right spots.
all the youtubers say it isn't matte, the sephora website says it isn't matte and I'm pretty sure it isn't matte
not trying to argue but I'm 100% positive it isn't matte because I use it everyday and I mainly like this foundation because of the natural/luminous finish.

Maybe it's because I'm used to very luminous/ dewy foundations that I consider it to be matte? I'm usually wearing TMs or YSL touche eclat which is very glowy.

I tend to reach for other foundations if I'm after a luminous to dewy finish anyway.

So what do you guys use for a setting powder for your foundation then. personally I don't like dewy foundations in the summer but if it has more of a natural dewy then ill try it. I have tried fit me and that sucks ,these are the foundations I have and I don't like, nars matte and sheer glow Mac and loreal lumi and the maybelline age rewind eraser foundation. I also have the it cc cream, I recently bought the loreal magic lumi primer thinking that the fondation would go on better but it sucks too.

I don't want a foundation that is too dewy my face is dry other then my tzone and my high checks going toward my nose.

Sorry I'm a bit confused are you looking for a semi-matte product? When applying your poreless product do you let it sit before applying a foundation? Usually when it comes to a pore product you apply only on the areas needed but you pat it on not swipe on like if it were moisturizer. I like to call it the Spackle routine. Think of it as a spackle process, your filing in the holes with the product and you wait for it to dry and be flat for the main paint process. Hope I made sense. :)

Hi alma and I'm open to trying anything I just know what I want and haven't found a dye for foundation yet. and yes I always let my moisterizer and pore eraser dry before putting on my fondation.

Awesome, do you have a price range or are you open to all? As for a lower cost range Revlon Nearly Naked is a beautiful foundation I will say it's like the lower cost end of Urban decay Naked which was a plus for me. I'm always looking out for good makeup in general no matter the cost because most are mainly owned by the same companies. As for a higher end I'm in love with Givenchy photo perfexion it's beautiful as well. :)

Okay thank you alma I think I'm going to start off with the first one and see from them what do you use to set that and highlighter what do you use also moistorizer?

I usually don't use powders to set my foundation but when I do I use the MAC mineralized skin finish natural.

You're welcome Lexi, as for powder if I use any it's usually the Rcma no-color powder or RMS un-powder,Givenchy powder, Mac defining powder. Most of the time I won't use powder and let the foundation do it's job on it's own if it can stand alone. As for highlighters are you meaning highlight illuminating finish above cheek bone to brow bone? Or are you asking about brightening a area to bring forward like under the eye's? I use Estee lauder moisturizer,But on the lower cost Boots 7 is awesome.:)

If price isn't an issue, Tom ford have a cream contour thing (can't think of the name!) called shade and illuminate which is amazing!
