I have super dry skin and Makeup Forever HD or Clinique Super Moisture or Even Better, are great foundations for dry skin. Makeup Forever's has more coverage than the Clinique foundations do but they are still great. Nars Sheer Glow is great but it broke me out, so try samples before buying any foundations! I also recommend using CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion (or Cream). And for primers I highly recommend L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer.

YSL touché éclat foundation is amazing for dry skin, it's quite glowy and doesn't highlight any dry patches!

For a drugstore option I highly recommend the loreal true match lumi. it has decent coverage and lasts all. smoothes over all my dry patches instead of clinging to them. my absolute favorite foundation.

My own favorite is MUFE Face & Body, which is buildable to medium..slightly luminous..just lovely and lightweight without any creasing. Water and perspiration resistant is a bonus and extends wear. I apply with freshly clean fingers and if I build to more coverage, I use a Beauty Blender. Brushes can sometimes stir up flakes. I have Psoriasis and my skin runs insanely dry. At the recommendation of Sandra and Ms. Jacqueline, I now use Lait-creme concentrate as my primer...which is richly moisturizing. Really lovely. I'd also recommend a hydrating face wash, such as CeraVe or Philosophy Purity in evenings. Prior to my moisturizer, I use Philosophy Microdelivery wash which hydrates and has very tiny, extremely gentle beads to remove flakes and keep skin fresh. No harshness...my derm recommended it, as well as the CeraVe. Lifechanging! For eyes, I love Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream alternated with Tarte's Maracuja. Hydrating highlighter...MAC Strobe Cream. Tarte Cream Blush is killer on dry cheeks..as is Benetint. I sometimes use the cream over my fav dry long wearing blushes, but the tiny tints and cream sticks fit nicely in purses for touch ups. Stubborn dry patches benefit from Aquaphor or Jojoba oil. If you want a dewy finish..a little Josie Moran Argan oil Light is perfect. I use Mineral Veil with a light hand now and again..never powder, other than for setting lips. Dry eye concealers...Benefit's Fake Up, Laura Mercier, Perfekt Eye perfection Gel. Perfekt comes in a clear primer...soothes and smoothes or tinted...never creases. Hope that helps.

I similar skin and I've found Clinique super moisture works ok for me. If my skin is really dry no matter what foundation I use its going to look flaky but I tend to have more luck with Clinique.
