I've been looking for a new foundation
I want something that lasts all day, looks great in photos, keeps me matte and gives me great coverage without me looking cakey
I've been considering the Kat Von D Lock it Foundation but I'm not sure if I should spurge on it. I was wondering if there are any drugstore foundations that work the same, or if I should go ahead and buy this since it's highly raved about
I've been thinking of the Revlon colour stay but I'm not sure whether to splurge or settle for a cheap drugstore alternative
let me know which is worth buying, thanks!

There's a new one by loreal that works really well with keeping you matte and staying all day, I can't exactly remember what its called but its newer, its a little more expensive then your average drugstore foundation but I heard its one of the best!

You can get a sample before you buy it.
although I love Kat Von D products, I didn't like it at all.
it's very thick no matter how you apply it.
fingers, damp beauty blender or kabuki.
it just doesn't look natural at all and looks so cakey.

I think Keely E. is talking about the L'Oreal Pro Matte Infallible foundation, it's something like that! Also, the Kat Von D foundation does last a good 6 hours by itself on my extremely oily skin, it's definitely matte, and full coverage. The thing is, I thought it looked pretty good besides the fact they didn't have my color (I had to stop using it for this reason) my father even thought it looked natural and so did my friends, my mother was the only person that thought it looked cakey though. (All of these people don't wear makeup and are very opinionated) so I would get a sample really to test it out since it is pricier than a drugstore foundation. I do think the Revlon Colorstay Whipped foundation does have a better "natural looking" finish since it's demi matte. Somehow it controls all my oil without being completely matte like Kat Von D. It's coverage is medium to buildable, it lasts pretty long but I like to use powder with that one and it lasts then about 7 hours. I've had no problem with a white cast with these foundations as well.

Some other foundations I think you could also be interested in are: Estée Lauder's Double Wear, NARS ADLW (I didn't like it but a lot of people do, I also think they have another one called Sheer Matte...not exactly sure) MUFE Matt Velvet +, Mac's prolongwear, studio fix, Matchmaster, Maybelline's SuperStay 24hr, Chanel's Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup, covergirl's 3 in 1, or No7 beautifully matte foundation.

Sorry, one last thing... I think. 😂 I actually just use my beautyblender (BB) dry to put on both the Revlon whipped foundation and Kat Von D. The KVD foundation dries really fast though so I would have to work in sections on my face and pat it in with the BB whereas with the Revlon one I could just dot it on and blend with my fingers or use the dry BB to pat it in. I wouldn't try sweeping the KVD with a brush because it just looks... streaky? I apologize for posting so much and for only having information on Revlon's whipped formula rather than their original!

I actually love the lock it foundation, it's my
Summer foundation because it's a tad too dark in the winter and I don't find that it feels cakey or like its melting off at all which is refreshing for full coverage. The coverage is phenomenal, though of course with any full coverage foundation your skin is not showing through so it's not the most natural look you can achieve. I also like the colour stay, it is more of a liquid formula while j find the KVD is more creamy. I use it with either a damp triangle sponge or dab it with my fingers and buff it in with a flat too kabuki
