For those who do their own acrylics at home or know about it, I might buy a kit tomorrow to do my own acrylic nails, it comes wht the acrylic powder, the liquid, the brush, nail glue and the tips, to do your nails do you actually need the nail dehydrator? And the primer? Or would it still work the same without, if you do need them what else can you use instead of having to buy the nail dehydrator or primer? Thanks!(:

I do it without the nail dehydrator. I do use the primer but it works fine without. I use the kiss acrylic set, comes with everything you need and it's $14.99 at Wal-Mart and $6.99 at Kroger.

The only difference I saw in the kits is that the one at Kroger doesn't have a nail primer or an acrylic cup so you have to dip your brush in the actual jar, which is dark, so you can't really see how much you're getting on your brush and it also has a smaller jar of acrylic powder, buuutt, the file is a lot better than the one at Wal-Mart, which is a big deal for me. So, it just depends on what you like. They both work and the nails last me about 2 weeks.

Yeah I was thinking to get that set from superdrug, it's like £10!:) but it doesn't have a nail primer or dehydrator, but as you said it does the same job and does it last the same amount of time without a primer or dehydrator?like around two weeks?

Use the nail file and file the shiny part of your nail off.
