Some people had their credit card information and such stolen, due to the sites security system not being updated or something. Also people have said Doe Deere repackaged products from other brands before and claimed they were Lime Crime. I've also heard she threatened people who didn't give positive reviews of Lime Crime.
Personally, I love Lime Crime products. No, if all that stuff is true, I don't agree with it. But I haven't been personally affected by the site hack or anything so I purchase anyway. It's your choice whether or not you want to support the brand.

I won't order from Lime Crime. Their owner is shady as hell and not a nice person. She's rude to her customers and let's just say I'm not 100% sold on the idea that the website was "hacked" and that peoples money just disappeared. She's deleted comments calling her out and refuses to address them. Her way of addressing the "data breach" was through Instagram. People were reporting money stolen in October-February and she didn't address it until recently. I just don't think the makeup is worth it for the price and the hassle and the worry that comes with it. There are plenty of other brands out there that offer better quality, such as Melt Cosmetics and Sugarpill.

I was actually one of the people hacked on the website in January. My bank handled everything and it went pretty smoothly getting my money back. I know nothing about Doe Deer personally and don't care to. The velvetines were my favorite lipsticks until I tried out Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. If you order from them, use paypal other than that, I think it's fine.

I personally don't think I'd order from them again, I really loved their products but I placed an order around the time of the "hack" and received a letter in the mail letting me know that my account could have been one of those compromised. Needless to say that scared the hell outta me so I don't think I'd risk it again. Wich is unfortunate cuz like you said I really enjoyed their products but there are plenty of other alternatives out there 😥

If you want to try Lime Crime, buy from another website that's not their.com if possible. I know Dolls Kill, Urban Outfitters, and Nasty Gal carry some of their products. I own all of the velvetines save the newest three and use them almost exclusively because I love the product so much. Good luck.

I mean limecrime.com, by the way. It took out my space when I tried to say their dot com.
