I have really bad acne prone skin, would a powder or a liquid foundation be better for my acne?

Knowing the ingredients in your makeup is important when it comes to acne prone skin. I have acne prone as well from severe to very mild acne to clear skin, so I understand the struggles and temptation to cover up with makeup, but it's important to understand that less is more. The more makeup you put on the more your pores will be clogged causing more acne.

You should look for makeup that is non-greasy, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and oil-free. The very first ingredient in your makeup should be water, because it is a lighter product that will not clog up your pores. Or mineral based products because they absorb oil and hide redness without irritating the skin and causing pimples.

Some products I like are Maybelline Matte + Pore less Foundation, Garnier BB cream Miracle Skin Protector, bareMinerals Matte Foundation. I always use a primer I use bareMinerals Prime Time.

Just continue to take care of your skin and never wear makeup to sleep always remove it and wash your face. Whenever possible allow your skin to breathe if your just lounging around at home.

I agree with both megan & cecille. I recommend the bareminerals matte foundation. I use it often when I have a breakout & it feels lightweight on my skin but still evens out the redness & provides some coverage. you should check it out! xo.
