In my opinion, yes it is. Natural lighting is the lighting that a lot of people will view your make up in throughout the day.

Yes! If you can try and do it in front of a window. I find more overcast/cloudy days are easier than extremely sunny. If the sun is too direct on your face it is hard to tell if you're applying too much but usually a sheer white curtain filters some of that out.

Typically, yes. If you don't have access to a window or other natural light sources, you can find "daylight" bulbs at Target, Home Depot, etc. They're fairly pricey, but they've made a huge difference in my setup and seeing what I'm doing! There are also lighted mirrors that have different settings so you can see what your face would look like in different lighting =)
