My face is gets really oily real fast, I've used a lot of face washes with oil free and my face gets oily within a half hour I do wear glasses but I clean then regularly as well.

You may just need to experiment with different cleansers. The best mattifying cleanser I've run across is Dermadoctor Ain't Misbehavin cleanser. It keeps me matte all day!

I don't an oily skin myself,so I'm not an expert, but I feel the oil control moisturizer you put on top does the main difference rather than a wash, dunno, just seems logical to me... also try on some primers, you can wear them regardless if you put makeup on top of it or not.

Have you tried going a gentler route? Try a gentle cleansing wash and let the oil come through for a day or two. Sometimes the harsher oil free facewashes actually promote increased oil production by the skin if they are stripping oils. Another thing to try is actually adding an oil to your routine. Perhaps add it after you wash your face at night when you're going to sleep. See if either of these options help balance your skin so it doesn't produce more oil.

I agree with HV. And Teodora mentioned another great solution...oil control moisturizers. Murad has one...well actually two...one is an Mattifier while the other one just states that its an oil control moisturizer.

I have really oily skin as well. I have been doing a turmeric mask three times a week for the last thirty days. My skin is clear, bright, and oil free.

That's if you want to go the natural way. Another good one for oily skin is MAC green gel cleanser+ oil control lotion. The trick is to use them together! Works great!!

Oily skin occurs when the sebaceous glands produce more oil than usual, leading to an imbalance in your system. Some excessive oil production is hereditary, but other factors that can lead to oily skin are stress, hormonal shifts, high humidity, travel, pollution, certain cosmetic products, birth control pills, poor diet, and improper skin care. Be sure you're only washing your face in the morning and before you sleep. Washing your face too often prompts the sebaceous glands to produce even more oil. The oil in your face (technically known as sebum) is there because it lubricates and protects your skin. When you wash your face too often, your glands respond by producing more oil to protect it. Cold or hot water dries up your skin so it is important that you use neutral lukewarm water to rinse off any facial cleansers. There are lots of products out there specifically for oily skin so look around and read labels, if you use a line specifically made for oily skin it will help reduce the problem even if it is gentle and the ingredients aren't super active. I recommend trying diluted witch hazel as a toner as well, it has antibacterial properties and also absorbs some of the excess sebum on your skin. To avoid your skin looking oily throughout the daily, try a mattefying face cream (murad has one which works awesome) or any face cream as long as it is oil free. Even though you have oily skin you still want to be sure to moisturize to restore your moisture barrier.
