Hey,
I work full time and I also attend to a police academy to become a police officer. My nails have been very fragile and they break easily, plus they grow so slow. I was wondering if any of you know if it's possible to add a coat of acrylic material on my nails as if they were acrylic nails.
I am not allowed to have my nails done or have crazy nail polish on them. But since I'm having this problem with my nails, I was thinking on applying a small coat of acrylic material to protect them and keep them looking decent.
Is it possible to do it, just add a little bit of acrylic instead of doing the complete and full nails?

I'd recommend getting an at home gel kit. It's less damaging to your nails. If you're just looking to harden your nails so they don't break, just use a base and top coat, cured under the LED lamp and they will be much harder. It won't actually strengthen your nails, but it will keep them from breaking. I recommend Red Carpet Manicure's system, mostly because it's an LED light and not a UV light. If you have a Meijer near you, I saw it on sale a few days ago for $69 (it usually retails for $79) and the kit will have everything you need.

I wouldn't waste your money on an at home gel kit if you can't get your nails done :( I would suggest looking at orly nail treatments! They have ones to help your nails grow, to help brittle nails become stronger, etc.

Yes you can do that, I had an acrylic overlay done on my natural nails for my wedding. The biggest downside to this is that when the acrylic comes off your real nails underneath will be damaged from it. Mine were not damaged too much but I had very healthy and strong nails to begin with. With yours being in such a fragile state already, I would think they would be pretty bad after doing this. Maybe try something less damaging such as gel manicures or nail treatments first as the other ladies suggested, then if you are still not satisfied go ahead and get the acrylic overlay done.
