Hi I am going to be trying out for college cheer All of the tryout packets ask for "game ready hair and makeup" one even said that pony tails weren't allowed, can someone please tell me what kind of hair and makeup is expected of me. Thank you so much! Pictures would be helpful as well.

I would go talk to other cheerleaders. It'll really vary between teams. A friend of mine was on a few football team cheerleaders and went to comps and stuff, and she constantly had to have her hair curled or straightened and half up, sparkly makeup etc.even when doing things unrelated to cheering. but she wasn't on a college team. When she was doing national competitions she went in a pony tail and no makeup to practices and auditions.

They might just want to see that you can still cheer with makeup on and with done up hair, rather than no makeup no hair in the face kind of thing.

This is how she looked for most events once she cut her hair she got to look more "sporty" than sexy. It went from sparkly smokey eyes to neutral but smokey

But your school might have photos or videos up on their website, you can see what they do.

Well it depends on the team. Try and find someone on the team for advice.
When I did cheer, the makeup was usually the team colors glitter all over the lid and red/darker pink lips. For hair, we usually did half pony tails... I find it weird that you can't do that since its a sport but wtv lol... Maybe just curl your hair.

I would do curls, with a Lot of volume. Tease it

Thanks guys, I cheer Allstate and high school so I have a general idea but the "no ponytail" instruction threw me off considering most of the time it's either high ponytails or half up half down

Also, maybe braiding it is an option!

Yes, a french or Dutch braid will look cute

I'm not sure if that counts as "game day ready"
