So I just tried sugar waxing down 'there' because I was sick of shaving everyday. I'm sure that I boiled the wax for long enough because it became the colour that it was meant to. when I tried to use it though it only ripped out two hairs of the ton that was under the wax strip. Any ideas on how to get it to work better?

How is the texture? More on the watery or sticky side OR is it kind of hard?
If it's too hard and not sticky enough it need a tad more water.
If it's the right consistency and not sticky then it needs to be cooked a little longer.

It definitely wasn't watery and it was thick and reasonably sticky. Once it's already been cooked can you cook it again for longer or do you need to make a new lot?

Sugar will burn if you cook it again.. Are you sure that you worked enough the paste?

Run it under water and then spread it kinda thin on your skin there are lots of videos on youtube about it just type in sugar waxing and it may help to see how someone does it.

Water will melt it so it becomes pliable

It has to be warm too. Play with it a little. I made my own once and it was extremely sticky... I would add more water to see how it goes.

Was your skin fully dry? Did you use a powder beforehand?
There's a lot of tutorials on how to make it & actually wax.

Additionally, apply it in the direction of the hair growth and be sure you're pulling the opposite direction, when using any sort of wax you will not be able to remove hairs if pulling the wrong way

Thanks I watched tons of videos and followed what people did on there. Tried it on my arms and legs as well and nothing happened so maybe I did the wax wrong. Thanks for the suggestions I'll give it another try.

I would just buy hard wax, it hurts less and is also less messy

It could be that your hair type just doesn't take well to waxing. I've tried waxing my legs and bikini multiple times with different types of wax, gone to two different salons that used different brands of wax, made my own with sugar... Nada. Wax just will not stick to my hair. Same with lotions and foams: my hair won't dissolve. It is impervious to depilatories.
Unfortunately I don't have any advice because I have yet to find a wax that actually works.
