How can I get rid of it?

As Elizabeth said, you can't get rid of it, but make sure you're using products made for oily skin. I have oily skin and I use Origins Checks And Balances Frothy Face Wash with my Clarisonic and the Clarisonic has definitely helped my oily skin. I'm much more on the normal side now since getting my Clarisonic. I also use a silicone primer, NYX Photo Loving Primer, and set my makeup with MAC Blot Powder, which I also take with me when I go out to blot away oil throughout the day (:

Oily skin occurs when the sebaceous glands produce more oil than usual, leading to an imbalance in your system. Some excessive oil production is hereditary, but other factors that can lead to oily skin are stress, hormonal shifts, high humidity, travel, pollution, certain cosmetic products, birth control pills, poor diet, and improper skin care. Be sure you're only washing your face in the morning and before you sleep. Washing your face too often prompts the sebaceous glands to produce even more oil. The oil in your face (technically known as sebum) is there because it lubricates and protects your skin. When you wash your face too often, your glands respond by producing more oil to protect it. Cold or hot water dries up your skin so it is important that you use neutral lukewarm water to rinse off any facial cleansers. There are lots of products out there specifically for oily skin so look around and read labels, if you use a line specifically made for oily skin it will help reduce the problem even if it is gentle and the ingredients aren't super active. I recommend trying diluted witch hazel as a toner as well, it has antibacterial properties and also absorbs some of the excess sebum on your skin. To avoid your skin looking oily throughout the daily, try a mattefying face cream (murad has one which works awesome) or any face cream as long as it is oil free. Even though you have oily skin you still want to be sure to moisturize to restore your moisture barrier.

Can't get rid of the oil in your skin, but by choosing the right products for your complexion, you control it and minimise it. I would recommend using moisturiser (day and night) deep cleanser (night) toner (night). Your skin is oily because the ratio of water : oil in your skin is not balance. That's what skin care tries to balance, just keep this in your mind. Also, oily skin tends to be acne prone one, so if this is your case, make sure you take care of it. Don't use peeling on the critical area where acne is found. :) for makeup, use foundations or BB / CC creams that have matt finishes (looks better because you are oily enough) and touch up with Matt loose powder :)

I love the Cetaphil oily skin cleanser. Gets rid of the oil but doesn't dry your skin out to much x
