I'm looking for a good foundation because I'm tired of using BB creams and want medium to full coverage.
-I have oily skin sometimes and I live in a very humid climate
-I do break out sometimes but I don't have acne.
-I have redness and freckles and dark spots.
-Sometimes around my nose is dry and flakey.
-My veins are greenish blue if that helps.

Have you looked at the new MAC ProLongwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation? I have oily/combo skin and live in hot humid FL and its been holding up quite well. Though I'm taking a temporary break from makeup due to an outdoor activity I'm doing that requires me to wear a helmet (and makeup is useless) it stayed put whether I set it with powder or went without. Plus it doubles as a concealer as well. Leaves me with a satin finish and offers a medium to full coverage. Best applied with a sponge tool such as a Beauty Blender. I have yet to try it using my foundation brush.

I normally use a matte finish because I can get really oily and sweaty so would it hold up under that or would I have shine?

I have the same skin as you, but dry. I would try the maybelline fit me, the matte one!

Rimmel stay matte is great for normal to oily skin, and it has medium to full coverage, but I don't know if it would be light enough for a humid climate since it's the texture is a bit heavy

The Maybelline made me look Iike an old person. My skin just looked old and I've tried Revlon before and I personally don't like it.

I agree on the kvd foundation. I have dry skin and I love the finish, it's super matte, but it's so drying for me.
But I never found it to cling to dry patches unless they were rewaaaally dry. But it covered all my redness which is really fantastic. And I know oily skinned people almost always love it. It can be hard to work with, and I definitely suggest after applying it to use a sponge to just blend everything a bit more. Like apply with whatever foundation brush you normally use then go over it with a wedge sponge. That's what I'd do, anyways.

I always apply everything with a sponge. I like the finish better than a brush.

After about 9 hours of wear did I experience a tiny bit of shine just on my t-zone but nothing earth shattering. It wasn't enough for me to scream;"Oil slick!" I didn't even feel it on my face...the foundation that is.

Hmm I might look into that one then.

My favorite is the Tarte Amazonian 12 hour foundation. I know some other girls on here don't like it, but I personally have had great success with it. I used to have bad acne, and it covered it all and stayed all day. I tend to have oily skin too, but I would get dry spots with my acne, and it handled all of the textures well.

I use Estee Lauder double wear light, not as heavy as the normal double wear but you cam build it up. I find it stays on all day. I don't know how it is were you are from but in the UK if you go to an Estee Lauder counter they will give you a decent sized tester than you can use a couple of times and see if you like it. xx

Okay everyone here is my delima, where I live doesn't have a sephora or mac so some of these things aren't readily available to me (the ulta here doesn't stock KVD either) the closest ones are in nashville which is a good hour away so I'll have to order online but I'm afraid I'll pick the wrong color (I always made my sister help me pick out foundation) so what are some good tips on picking a color cause I've looked at their sites and some of them have the weirdest names.

Sephora is the sole retailer of kvd unfortunately!
But I'd get them to do the color iq on you, they'll test it out on your chin/neck and blend it out, then you should walk around outside (I personally just take a few pictures and use the camera to see if there's a visible difference in color) and inside to make sure it looks good. Then buy the shade if it fits, or try again if it doesn't.
You could also try findation.com
