So I have my regular face routine of a cleanser, toner and jojoba oil. I was just wondering if there's some type of once a week pore cleansing something or another I should incorporate. I have combination skin and have mild acne. Also, what's the hype with the charcoal face care things?

I absolutely love the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. The charcoal helps pull impurities up and out of the skin. Apply it for 10 minutes, no more and no less, and you can use it every 3 days as long as it's not causing irritation or drying out your skin. Since using the mask my skin feels so clean and my blackheads have greatly diminished (:

I used to do some type of clay mask yearsss before I knew the basics of skincare, so basically I extra dried out my skin because I never moisturized either. Oops! I'm certainly interested in the charcoal but I wasn't sure if it's something I needed to do. I'll have to look into that particular product. Thanks so much for the reply!

You're very welcome! Maybe see about a getting a sample first and see how you like it before purchasing the whole bottle. They sell it at Sephora, free standing Origins stores, and some Macy's have Origins counters (:

Yea I seen it was at sephora. Not a bad idea for samples. I was looking at the Boscia black mask but for that price I've been holding out lol.

Honestly I've never even tried any other charcoal masks. I love the Origins one so much that I don't feel the need to try anything else out.

I don't think the Boscia is charcoal. I could be wrong. It's just one I seen elsewhere and came up when I put in filters of what I was looking for at sephora.com.

I've tried the Freeman's charcoal and black sugar mask/scrub and its amazing...you can get it at CVS or Walgreen's I know at CVS they have the trial sized packets that you can get to try it out first...the bigger bottle is like 4 bucks tops but it draws everything out and clears the skin...I have oily combo skin.

I like my current routine, but I wasn't sure if I should be adding in a deeper treatment weekly or not at all. I'll stick to goats milk in the fudge the Amish make at farmers markets 😄. It's really neat seeing all the different things that work for everyone!
