If your skin starts spontaneously breaking out, I recommend going back to the basics- like cleanser and moisturizer. I also use the H20 Marine Toner- it really helps tone down the redness. Also, using a retinal cream helps cell turnover faster, and will help get rid of acne and scars faster. If that doesn't work, ask your doctor to prescribe you Adapalene- it's the best! I hope this helps

Is your combo skin more on the oily side or dry? And how long have you been using your current routine? I ask because products take on average six weeks to see any solid results and we just can't expect results overnight to occur. Since you mentioned your skin be uber sensitive bouncing around and switching up products all the time can cause more harm than good. Natalie mentioned the retinol cream and I agree big time with that one because its what I use and it definitely helps with keeping acne in check. RoC has a sensitive skin formula and if you use that start in baby steps...use twice a week till your skin becomes acclimated then amp up to three times a week and then maybe you can reach everyday PM use. I use mine sometimes three times a week or if my skin is really needing some help...I'll go a full seven days. I like switching it depending on how my skin is behaving. If there is no issues then I keep it super simple...if its misbehaving...come in with the heavy duty stuff.lol

Cystic acne...on a rare occasion I get a visit and I found the best way to combat those is following a less is more approach. Super gentle skincare...a basic cleanser, toner and moisturizer that doesn't contain any active ingredients. Cystic acne is hormonal base so definitely take note of when you get these visitors...if they come around when mother nature comes knocking then you know the culprit. Some beauties find their cystic acne is diet based (with dairy being the top offender followed by meats due to the hormone injections given to our meat supply especially here in the United States).

I'm not a skin expert but what I have found out is that certain foods trigger my acne, like pizza ice cream, really spicey foods!! Diet is a huge part of skin

Its more oily rather than dry and I've been using these products about a month now. I had been using natural products beforehand such as ground up oatmeal with a splash of lemon juice and honey for a deep clean but feel like its too much for everyday use although it was helping unclog my pores so should I go back to basics and keep using this? And is they're anything for cystic acne that I can use to soothe the problem as it can be quite painful :( I will look out for the products mentioned also thanks so much guys I really do need the expertees you provide I'm hopeless!! Lol.

Cystic acne is very hard to treat so standard products used for acne just won't work as the cyst will start within the skin tissue. A BHA exfoliant is helpful and so is a benzoyl peroxide cream (spot treatment) as it kills the bacteria that created the cyst in the first place.
