How to back comb long hair? can it be done without having layers?

Sometimes it can work lol. Is your hair really soft and silky? If it is put a product in it first to "junk it up" lol, it really helps. Also, if your hair is super thick as well, texturizing it and taking out the bulk should make it a little easier. Hope I helped:-)

I like to section off my crown area of my hair, spray it with hair spray, tease with a teasing comb or brush, spray again, and finish it all before I carefully brush it out so it's more tame. I have "soft silky hair" too, so this works for me without makin my hair Greasy.

I know what you mean! I have quite long hair. I do it in small sections, maybe two inches wide at most and pretty thin as well. Tease starting maybe 4 inches from your scalp :)
