Dress ideas? Makeup?

I have a semi formal dance to go to and I need recommendations for a dress color. The theme is black and white with the decor being tumblr inspired. I am not the skinniest person, so I have a problem finding dresses that look good with my body type. If you have any ideas on the color/type of dress that might look nice please tell me. Also any eyeshadow/ make up looks would help. Thanks!

What's your "body type"? I also feel like body type doesn't matter, but I would do at least a knee length dress, but maybe something tight in the bust and then flowy.

I have fair skin and blonde hair as well so I find that darker colors (black/blue/etc.) looks good on me. As for makeup I would just play around and find what you think looks good and what you're comfortable with.

I have this dress from F21 site, the Love21 line cos this is half larger than the regular size of F21. It's really nice cos the lace details is not cheap. And the color is just gorgeous! If worn, the waistline cinch a little and not too tight. This is below the knee I'm 5'1 for reference.

And for eye makeup, look at this gorgeous palette from EL. This was a gift from Nordstrom last year and found this in my drawer when I was cleaning yesterday. I forgot about this. I was so glad I found it. Lol. Maybe I should post pics of swatches. This has very interesting colors.

I love red on fair skin and blonde hair, it will also pop with the black and white theme. If you're short waisted a skater dress would look cute, but if the have a long torso maybe a doll dress (instead of accentuating the waist it gets tighter under the breasts then goes straight down). For makeup a light smokey eye or something natural looking with either a nude or red lip. What color eyes do you have?

I have really complicated eyes. They are like a mix of blue, green, and hazel with flecks of gold
