So I have my prom coming up in a few months and it will probably be hot! I need a setting powder that will be good to cover up extremely oily skin as well as not look cakey or rub off my face. I've had so much difficulty finding a good powder. I also want to be able to wear it alone as I'm not big on foundation. My price limit is $50!

I hear a lot of good things about the Rimmel Stay Matte powder but I've never tried it so I don't know if it looks okay without foundation.

Rimmel stay matte is good, but don't expect any coverage from it. It doesn't look cakey though. It's around $5.

I tried Rimmel Stay Matte many times and I tried to like it but I haatteedd it. It looked so powdery on my skin and felt gross after an hour. I could only go 2 hours max without looking shiney again, but thanks :)

Mac blot powder or rimmel stay matte are my favourites.

I personally use MAC Blot Powder and I love it, it doesn't add any color and doesn't look cakey.

Urban Decay's De-Slick is awesome. It really matifys everything and keeps it matte.

Alexis, do you use the pressed powder or loose?

I use the pressed powder. I use it to set my makeup and then bring it with me when I go out for touch ups when I start to look oily (:

The new Maybelline matte maker is sooo good for oily skin people. I also love the nars pressed powder and mac translucent powder.

Mac's prep and prime loose powder works lovely, but it does get all over the place

I'm literally the oiliest of oily! LOOSE POWDER. Pressed powders have ingredients like oil in some cases that hold it together and keep it pressed. Set with a loose- I suggest Tarte Amazonian loose setting spray and keep a cheap pressed in your bag! Setting with a loose is so important.
