I want to dye my hair Burgundy but I have ombre what would happen if I dye my hair burgundy on top of ombre?

Maicelcorazon123 ..
Btw my ombré is dark brown on top and light orangish/blonde at the bottom.

It'll probably be a little patchy, and yes, the parts that are blonde or orange are going to be lighter than where your hair is brown, you might have to dye it a second time, that's what I do and it fixes it with no problem. Remember to go from your ends to your roots.

Can I just use two boxs at the same time? Would that make the color more opaque?
Jan 20, 2015
Julia K.
Yeah it definitely would :)

The color at the ends may grab brighter. for the amount of hair you have, your probably going to need two boxes anyways. color over it a second time would probably even it out but please make sure you condition like crazy. box dye is so bad and harsh on your hair.

I'm not a hairstylist but I had ombre and got it done professionally all dark brown and had no issues of it being lighter on the bottom and my hair was very light.

That's because you were going darker ^ for brighter, vibrant colours any lighter strands in the hair will show up as brighter. I would know haha, I had dark brown + lighter brown/orange strands in my hair (from a previous dyed red head) last year when I went red again and the lighter strands of hair took color much easier and were brighter.

Do a protein treatment especially since your hair is already so damaged and dry!

If you can, buy the dye and developer separate instead of a box dye. It's just as easy but seems to be more gentle on my hair. One n Only argan color from the beauty supply store leaves my hair feeling really healthy compared to say loreal or something.

My hair turned out horrible. Don't do it.

Do it and show us! It would look great as long as the brown on top has no other natural roots growing in (if it's dyed brown) unless it's naturally brown on top
