Hey ladies, so I was wondering what your opinions are on setting powders or setting sprays. What are the benefits/drawbacks on each and how do you use them? Would you use them together?

I use both of them to help set my wet makeup with the powder and then to take the edge off the powder look I use a spray over it - miss Jacqueline or one of the other MUA moderators may be able to best answer this question though and there may be old posts you can search through too.

I set my makeup with a powder and spray. powder can get cakey and / or leave a white cast- which is why I use the setting spray afterwards. I use the Nyx dewy finish setting spray and translucent loose setting powder. they're both really good for the price, and can be easily found in stores.

I love setting powders and setting sprays because I have oily skin and both these products helps my makeup lasts longer.
I would set my foundation with powder and after I've finished doing all my makeup I would use a setting spray to help everything stay in place.

I use both- I use RCMA no color to take the shine down in my t zone and set my makeup. Love using a powder puff and tucking it and rolling it onto my skin to really get the powder into my skin. Then I use UD All Nighter to lock everything in place. I find it easier to spray it on my beauty blender and and press it into my skin.

I normally use both powder and spray. However, it's actually up to your reference. Powder is great for oily skin but If you use setting spray with it, it just helps more with holding your makeup better that's all. I use motives cosmetics translucent powder and 10 years younger setting spray as it holds the makeup for the whole day without me having to touch up at all.
