What toner would you recommend using to get rid of ashy tones and to help get my hair as light as possible?

Shaye M.
The point of toners is to really remove brassy colours, not to remove ashy tones. Most tones leave ashy tones.

I meant brassy tones then like yellowy/orangey. Never used toners before so not so sure on the terminology, haha. I just want it as light as possible because I'm dying my hair a pastel colour

Toners will add ash or warmth to hair. But if you want to lighten hair at all that requires bleach. A toner can't lighten and color can't lighten. Only a lighter can.

Okay; I've had pastel colours before so I can help haha :) what colour are you at currently? And have you tried using any purple shampoos yet?

I'm a medium purple colour, its still darkish though. I'm bleaching it to get the colour out but I want to make it lighter, get rid off ashy/brassy tones or whatever, haha. A blank kanvas to dye pastel? I'm okay with bleaching/dying side of things, just not toners :)
