I haven't but I want to. Your hair can't grow back thicker or darker if you shave, that's a myth. It will grow back the same.

I think it's not a myth Ashley.. in my opinion hair will grow thicker.

I have read everywhere that hair will not grow back darker, thicker, or longer...if you have thick, coarse hair to begin with, that's how it will.grow back...

I've done it before. I shave the peach fuzz on my face for a better foundation application. I do believe it is a myth that your hair grows back longer, thicker, and darker. When you shave you are bluntly cutting the hair with the razor so it only appears that your hair is growing back thicker but in reality it's not. Buuuut. Everyone is different so, that may not stand true with every single person.

It just appears thicker because the top of it was sliced off, rather than a pointed shape in would naturally be. also it appears darker because this hair has not been exposed to the sun as much as the hair before has (sun lightens hair). also, it appears to grow back faster because hair (other than head) grows up to a maximum length until it becomes hard to support it. so, our leg hair naturally has a longer hair maximum that arm hair. This is done like that because of evolution and the need to have different lengths of hair on different body parts to cope with temperatures. so it will not grow back thicker or darker, it just appears to be.

I use a small electric razor- like a bikini trimmer (you can find them at Walmart) and that works for me

It is a complete myth that hair grows back thicker. If cutting off our hair made it thicker, then the solution to girls wanting thicker hair growth would be as simple as a hair cut?
Here's why it appears thicker;
Hair grows thicker at the base and the tips is fine. When you wax, pluck, or remove hair from the base the new growth you see is from the fine point.
When you cut or shave the hair, you basically cut it off at its widest point which leaves the thicker base exposed therefore what you see if the base, not the finer tip. Obviously, when you remove hair from the base completely it takes a longer time to grow then if you were just to cut it off.

Shaving does not cause hair to grow back thicker, and it's just an old myth that never seems to die as misinformation spreads like wild fire.

I shave mine and I havent noticed anything weird about it. I actually like it. Its a lot quicker to do than waxing or threading.

Personally, I don't shave my face. However, a youtuber named Jessica Harlow does it to get rid of peach fuzz for a better makeup application. She doesn't do it with an actual razor you use to shave your legs though! She uses something that looks like an eyebrow razor? I don't shave so I wouldn't know exactly what it is, but you can always check her out/Google it. It's a myth that hair grows back thicker and whatever. Since you're shaving it doesn't pull the hair out from the pore; it just bluntly cuts the surface of the hair which makes it appear thicker. When JH was talking about her shaving her face, she said she had no problems with it. Beautylish has addressed this myth too, and they basically said the same thing.

I'd suggest getting it threaded instead, shaving it would leave stubble, and it would grow back after a day or two anyways where as with threading it removes the hair for about a week or two, and gradually if you keep going the hair could start not growing back since its getting it from the root. I wouldn't suggest waxing though just because the wax could cause you to break out.

I think it depends on the person. I had blonde hair above my lip years ago and it bothered me, so I used (and still continue to use) a facial hair removing cream. It works great, but the hair grows back darker and coarse.

It does seem to grow back more "stubbley" with shaving so I get mine threaded.

Forgive me, I haven't read all of the above comments but, my dermatologist tells me that nothing (including shaving) will make your hair grow back thicker. After shaving the hair has a blunt follicle so it may seem a little more noticeable but you do not grow more hair or thicken your hair. I've been shaving my upper lip for years with no problems.

I'm the same as @Sam S, I use a hair removal cream for my upper lip to get rid of my dark peach fuzz. Also I don't shave, pluck, thread, or wax my face. I don't mainly because I have a friend who does and she says the up keep of it is ridiculous and that she wouldn't have done it if she had known you had to do it so often. But to each their own :) If you want to shave your face, just know that it's like keeping your eyebrows, legs, and underarms hair free/neat. You'll have to keep up with it constantly growing back. :)

Your dermatologist is absolutely right Kathyrn, if shaving did make her thicker like I said the solution to th ocker hair growth would be as simple as a hair cut. Beautylish did also write an article on it a while ago as well =)

I have to agree with Kathyrn. I sometimes shave my peach fuzz if I feel like it gets too noticeable.

I use a small personal shaver to shave my face. I do this regularly, the hair still comes back light soft and blond. I have naturally dark hair and coarse leg hair. it all depends on the hair on the area of your body you are shaving. one area is not an indicator of the hair in another area.

This kinda looks like what I use.

If you do it once or twice it won't grow back coarse which makes it look thicker

Same here Tessandra. Only it was my mom who shaved and had to everyday. She now uses what I use, but has to a couple times a week. Whereas I only have to once. I also agree that you do have to keep up on it just like the rest of your body. The hair on your body has a different anagen phase than on your head.

I had blond hair on my face, shaved and it grew back black

Your hair doesn't grow back thicker, it just looks that way when it's stubbly. If this were true, facial hair on men would literally be tree trunk size by the time they're adults! You can shave, you just need to keep it up to keep that dark stubble at bay. Alternatively, there are hair remover creams you can use specifically for your face.

I suggest laser hair removal I don't have any noticeable hair on my face but my mother does and her skin looks flawless after a laser hair removal treatment

I pluck instead of shave because it seems to be a much more permanent removal method and I really don't have very much hair on my face to begin with.

No way! I leave the peach fuzz alone. To scared I will look like a werewolf if it grows back thicker.
