I've been using Atralin every night for 6 weeks (skipped a few due to excessive dryness.) this seemed to do nothing! Then, two days ago I recently added Aczone Gel in the mornings. All these creams are doing is making my skin dry and acne quite inflamed, isn't six weeks enough?? It seems to continuously break me out, no improvement! I was on doxycycline for three-four months and it was great, but oral pills aren't good for you for prolonged periods, too bad!!

I would suggest going to your dermatologist, they would be able to help you with your acne and your questions better.

Yea that's why he prescribed the Atralin & Aczone at the same time... Since I recently just started using the Aczone I better keep using both for I guess another 12 weeks?

Yes! I was prescribed aczone and it took 2 months before I really started to see a lot of improvement. my skin had to purge itself which resulted In a terrible breakout but after that my skin is completely smooth and nowhere near as sensitive as before. I would suggest you give it some time and it will work!

I never had a good response to any of the topical treatments my dermatologist prescribed. They did nothing like you said and only made my face dry and irritated. I finally took Accutane (this was over 10 years ago) and I wished I'd skipped all of the other treatments and just done that first. The Cetaphil Moisture Cream would help with the dryness. It's different than the moisturizer but it's non-comedogenic and way more effective. Have you asked your dermatologist about spironolactone? My friend has had good results with treating her acne with it.
