Over the weekend I picked up Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in the shades Spice and Chestnut. Along with the suggested brush.
Texture felt great. It did have that gel/cream feel to it. I have oily/combo skin and I like products that offer medium coverage as I'm not trying to cover-up anything. I just like my skin to look like skin.
Sunday I had tried Chestnut and it wasn't long before I looked like a Halloween pumpkin. Not only in color but in texture too!! My skin looked haggard and rough. I know I'm 41 but dang...my face looked a fright! So today I tried out Spice. Bada bing bada boom...I thought I found myself a match as I walked out the door. It blended perfectly and no issue...or so I though. I had to work my graduate internship for a few hours...my group of girls were staring at my face kinda crazy. I thought it was because they were just giving me a hard time to be giving me a hard time. Wasn't till break that one of the girls told me what the problem was.
My face was two-toned!! My chin turned a dark grayish brown while the other half of my face looked ok. This cream claims to be color correcting but color correcting it is not!! I look like I was wearing a 5 o'clock shadow!! Luckily I had a deluxe sample of my beloved Laura Mercier Flawless Finish foundation in my bag because I promptly removed that mess and started over again with LM.
After this nonsense I'm swearing off all Bare Minerals face products. Their Bareskin foundation serum was brutal on my face as well and now this dud.
I will say that this might be better suited for more fair skinned beauties but anyone beyond that skintone tread carefully.

Shelley, that sucks!! my salon sells bare minerals and I'm not a fan of their products (except their well rested pen and lip glosses) but I thought the complexion rescue was pretty on point. I don't like it for every day because it does nothing for oil control but I do enjoy it on the weekends. it's the only foundation of theirs that I'm ok with. but I think the company as a whole is hokey and gimmicky.

@Lori...that's exactly what my pores looked like!! Pot holes!!lol
As with every product...some people have a great success with and others not so great but I rarely have experiences where every face product within a line is a dud for me. The only other one I can think of in regards to that experience is MAC foundations and Covergirl. :(

Wow thanks Shelley - I've seen commercials for it and I normally don't like bare minerals either but since that is a liquid I thought maybe it would be cool to try - but now I'm not even going to bother if it gave you all that trouble lol that just sucks girl.

Thats weird.. I got the color vanilla and it has not only improved my skin tone, but also hydrates and provides good coverage. I like it lol.

@Brandy...I'm so happy its working for you. :) Did you get the brush that they suggested too?

Thank you for the review Shelley. To be honest years ago I was a fan of their mineral foundation, tried it again later last year and it was a hot mess, I honestly think they have gotten away from making a quality product. I don't even bother now.

Question - gel cream - is it like the Garnier or clinique product?

I have stayed away from their face makeup for years but I will say the loose powder shadows are pretty darn good.

@Nicole...I'm not sure...not too familiar with the one from Clinique or Garnier.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief | Clinique.

@Nicole...Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is a facial moisturizer. The product I'm discussing is a foundation product.

Shelley- I use my fingers. I find that brushes only accentuate my dry spots during the winter months
