My daughter is turning twelve and in sixth grade. She has beautiful skin and doesn't need makeup, however, like most girls these days she is asking for it. What should I start her out with...I already allow her to wear nude and light pink lip gloss. I would love to hear from moms with daughters... I have three and she is my oldest.

I don't think there is much harm in giving her a pressed powder compact to cost some during the day and maybe a little mascara to go with her lip gloss. She just wants to be like her friends and predators don't pick girls because they are wearing makeup.

I think simple things to enhance her natural beauty should be fine like the lipgloss and yes like kelly said a powder for keeping oil at bay if she even has any lol. 12 is a bit young in my opinion for anything else. if she already has beautiful skin, bare minerals is gentle enough for someone that young. They have great tinted lipgloss called the buttercream moxie, and powders that has VERY limited ingredients so that she wouldn't end up getting pimples or clogged pores from anything that's heavy.

I personally think that age is a bit young too. my daughter is 11 and I won't allow her to wear makeup out. to be honest she hasn't even thought about it.
but if you allow your daughter to do so I think all she needs is lip gloss. a pretty pale pink should be enough to brighten up her face. I think anything else would make her look like she's trying to look older than she is.
but that's only my opinion... you're the mom! :)

When I was in middle school my mom would only let me wear clear mascara lip gloss and powder. I would even say a bb cream would be ok as well. nothing to heavy looking keep it natural to enhance her natural beauty

Considering the fact that she's in her pre-teen years and her skin is probably going to start going thru changes, I would stay clear of face makeup like powder, foundation, BB creams, concealer, blush, etc. the last thing you'd want is to trigger a breakout.

Mine is 11 and since I'm makeup obsessed she is as well. I let her wear mascara and light lipgloss as well as pale shadows and blush. Most of the girls her age are wearing similar amounts of makeup. I pass on almost empty products as well as stuff I've bought and not loved and she is allowed to experiment with whatever she wants at home. As far as what she can wear to school or out in public it has to pass my inspection and basically appear as if she's not really wearing anything. I don't like it to be obvious but I don't mind a bit of sparkle or gloss :) it makes her feel good and she has fun so I see no harm.

My oldest girl is 13 now but she is allowed to wear mascara & neutral eye shadows & lipstick as well but usually just wears mascara... I see nothing wrong with it but definitely not full face

I think mascara would be fine, but otherwise she probably doesn't need anything else!
