It does all depend on what you want as the finish but go with one just a shade up then lighten a shade to your match it's all about mixing in the end of it all. If you go light it pops out more of the under eye area and sometimes that's the highlighted no zone and shifts color looking grey or worst then before. This subject is always a mix review honestly.

I go a shade darker because I use mine on small pimples and old scars, also under the eyes, last time a used a shade lighter under my eyes it looked grey and ashy. Like Alma said. At the end of the day, it's really just personal opinion and purpose :)

I like a shade lighter around my eyes but to cover a blemish I don't want to bring attention to it so I match it as close to my skin as possible.

I want it all for my blemishes.. and my complexion is medium tone. please feel free to see my pics in profile... but as all you wonderful ladies just suggested above I think I should go a toner darker than mine. or may b as closest but not definitely. lighter.
