I read a while back that if you mix a rose petal with Vaseline, it can tint your lips. Can you use a dying rose?

I've never heard of this technique but I'm sure it will still work. You just will have to grind the flower into a fine powder. But I think the tint actually comes from the moisture in the plants, it's very hard to explain but when you squeeze something like a raspberry and your hand is stained red, same goes for flowers. If you break/tear the flower you will get this stain on your hands, and I think that's what has the tint affect. But a lot of dyes are also made from powder so I don't think there will be a huge difference, the texture may be weird though.
