The things that stand out to me that I don't like to use in my hair is Alcohol denat, dimethicone, and fragrance. I like to use Carol's daughter or one and only argon oil cream to serum.

Spray on heat protectants typically contain Solvent Alcohols which is why I personally avoid them. Fragrance can also contribute to drying out hair as well.
Dimethicone is a silicone which is essential as a heat protectant as they are what coat the hair to prevent it from heat damage. Avoiding silicone in heat protectants is as useful as not using a heat protectant. Both Carols Daughter and One n Only use Silicone. ( I use One n Only and spray on Its a 10 with Keratin prior to using heat. )
Both Cyclomethicone and Dimethicone are two common silicone agents that are approved by the FDA.
Silicones serve the following purpose in hair products:
1. Reduce moisture loss from within the hair strand.
2. De-tangle and act as a lubricant. ( Think about the 'slip' conditioners have. )
3. Shine / Silky feeling
Silicones are quite thin, and resistant to heat and are waterproof. They coat the hair and can help the hair appear shinier. They also assist in making your hair more resistant to humidity.

Silicones do have slip. Conditioners, leave In, styling serums, and lots of other hair products use silicone.
So do face primers. Hourglass Mineral Veil which is known for having a silky luxuarious feel is based using Cyclopentasiloxane. Products with xane and cone endings are typically silicones.
Silicones also help other ingredients and nutrients in a product transfer into the hair shaft effectively.
Cyclomethicone is typically found in higher end products as it is a more expensive silicone. Products like It's a 10 which contain a base of Cyclomethicone usually have that 'silky, luxurious feel' because of Cyclomethicone.
