Use a dark spot corrector and SPF and make sure to exfoliate (:

My dermatologist prescribed Obogi (hydroquinone) and it worked fast and then the marks came right back. My new dermatologist has me on Lyterra which is working a bit more slowly but at least it's working. Nothing over the counter would touch my spots, I had to see a derm.

I agree with Alexis about exfoliating. I personally like to use a konjac sponge because it's super gentle and I can use it more frequently than granulated scrubs.
In terms of a dark-spot corrector, the product that helped me the most was Paul & Joe's Brightening Serum. My mom and my friends noticed how much lighter my acne hyperpigmentation spots were after I used it.
I now use Mizon's Mela Defense White Capsule Essence because it's cheaper. I use it more as a preventative serum so that if I do get any spots, they don't get too dark when they're healing. It doesn't work as well as the Paul & Joe serum though when a spot is already very dark.
I really hope you find something that works for you! I know how frustrating it is to deal with scars.
