So I wake up,wash my face with Cetaphils facial cleanser and apply Lancomes primer which I believe ia silicone based, then apply my Lancome Teint Idole 24h foundation as I warm it up on my palm and apply everywhere, then stipple and buff it with my Sonia Kashuk No. 4 multi purpose brush and finally set my makeup with Laura Mercier pressed setting powder but my makeup isn't set on my face throughout the day :(. And I'm pretty sure it's the brush bc I feel like it absorbs too much product/:. Or maybe the silicone based primer? But then again my primer and foundation are the same brand so my makeup should stay in place. I need a real good foundation brush or beauty tool to apply my foundation flawlessly. And I have oily skin if that seems to help determine brush choices. Please help me with foundation brushes or bb to help with this! Thank you!

Do you moisturize? :0.

Rosa A.
I'd say stop the primer and invest in all nighther spray from urban decay. That's the only way I was able to last all day with makeup.

Alexis C.
Make sure you're moisturizing as Gisell asked.
I got a sample of that foundation and although it definitely wasn't my favorite I applied it with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It really buffed the product into my skin and made it look okay (I say okay because I didn't like the finish of the foundation). I'd suggest trying out that or a similar buffing brush

And make sure to clean that brush all the time I use that same one and I love it.

Which lancome primer/base are you using?and are you using the Laura mineral powder?
Jan 16, 2015
Yaira D.
In the morning I don't mosturize/:. Only at night bc I feel like I look oily throughout the day if I do mosturize before I prime x:

So the buffing brush is better than the Real Techniques Face Expert brush for this foundation? o:
Jan 16, 2015
Yaira D.
Thank you! But doesn't it seem like the brush absorbs too much product for you, Rosa?
Jan 16, 2015
Alexis C.
Moisturize in the morning as well and give it time to sink into your skin before moving on to your makeup!
Also, I had gotten a sample of the Lancome LA Base Pro when I got my Teint Idole sample and it was okay but I went back to using my NYC Photo Loving Primer

*NYX Photo Loving Primer, not NYC. I can't type today.

I'm using Lancomes La Base Pro primer x:
And I'm using Laura Mercier pressed setting powdee shine control x:

It could just be that the foundation doesn't suit your skin and your skin's needs, honestly, and not the brush, application, primer, or finish powder that's the problem.

Otay (:. I will definitely mosturize!
haha its okay. Did the NYX primer break you out?
Jan 16, 2015
Alexis C.
I've never broken out with the NYX Primer and I've been using it for about a year now.

Hmm/:. You're probably right but the thing is it honestly keeps my face red-free if that makes sense aha. And I like the medium/full coverage it gives but ugh. Idk what to do nor what foundation to purchase if that's the case x:

I'd suggest getting a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear! I have oily skin and the Double Wear needs little touching up and doesn't break down from my skin's oils (:

With that primer you don't need to moisturize if it's just the base pro matte. A toner will be great to use before hand then skip the powder after.every foundation eventually breaks down after a while.

I've tried it twice /:. But they don't have my correct color <|3. I guess ill give E L another try x:

Otay Alma :3. Is the Mac Mineralize: Charged Water skin hydrating Mist okay for a toner?
Jan 16, 2015
Yaira D.
Would you recommend investing on a beauty blender? If so which one and how can I keep it in the best shape?
Jan 16, 2015
Alma M.
I honestly would not use that Mac product for a toner especially since your oily that actually should be removed from your use since it hydrates it doesn't control oils, are you using that in your makeup routine? I use sea breeze oil control. The real beauty blender is fantastic a must to have besides using it to apply foundation, I'm more of a flat paddle person when applying foundation but the real beauty blender is great to smooth out the finish:)
Jan 16, 2015
Yaira D.
Oh gosh. Thank you! Maybe the reason my makeup doesn't stay on o:. Is that sea breeze oil control in stores? Which flat paddle brush would you recommend? :3 Thank you!
Jan 16, 2015
Alma M.
Yes if your using that product on your oily skin it's making all products slip off,and as for sea breeze you can get it at target, walmart, cvs, wal- greens, Walmart, any where really also make sure your facial wash is for your skin type.Flat paddle brushes just go with the Sonia Kashuk line get her flat paddle ;) I use Borghese, bare mineral paddle.
