What are the best ways to get my hair to stay curled?

It's best to curl your hair on second or third day hair, as the oils and "dirt" keep the curl better. Heat protestant before you curl. Curl and then spray with hairspray.

Use dry shampoo or heavy duty hairspray after and heat protectant before (:

On my hair, clean is better, was your hair and comb it then put in mouse and let dry, don't brush out the mouse, when dry, use a ceramic iron, and wrap the hair, when you let the hair off cup it in your hand and coil it up to your head and let cool down for a few second then release, takes awhile but worth it in the end. And I'd spray sections not individual curls, otherwise you get crunchy hair which I personally don't like.

Oh yea, I agree with Maggie, dry shampoo helps a lot too.

If you have washed your hair the same day then leaving it in braids over night leaves really nice curls which stay during the day of curl your hair before you go to bed and curl it when you wake up in the morning. I agree with Shanae though- curling your hair when it's 'dirty' is always best. If your hair isnt 'dirty' put dry shampoo on it. To make it stay better hairspray the section of hair you are going to curl, curl, spray again and when it's all done brush it through and spray again!!

I spray on some hairspray before I curl and also after I finish curling. It works so much better for me! I use to curl my hair for school and it wouldn't even be curly when I got there, but now that I use hairspray before and after, the curls stay in all day.

Anna, nobody said it's mandatory, I was simply stating one of many different ways to do it. Thanks for your input though.
