It would look gorgeous on you! I don't think it will damage your hair, I agree with your hairdresser

Darkening the hair almost doesn't damage it if you have a good hair care routine and healthy hair. for me, it almost made my hair look and feel better. use a good dye or go to a professional, use a good mask regularly and you should be fine.

It's a common misconception, actually, that dying your hair harms it. Really what's harmful is stripping your hair of pigment. Bleaching and lightening your hair can damage it and make it dry. Using hair dye to darken it, however, will do such little damage to your hair that you won't be able to tell the difference, especially if you use a vegetable dye.

Btw I absolutely love your current hair color but dark hair would also look amazing on you.

Yes, I agree, dye isn't as damaging as you would think, but like Hannah said, when you start stripping your hairs natural pigment is when it gets bad, so bleaching. But if you were to dye it darker, you'll be fine. Hardly any damage at all, if any.

I love your current color and it is fairly similar to mine! I dyed my hair darker with semi permanent months ago and I despised it. Still not close to the original shade so my only suggestion would be to make sure you're positive before doing it!!

Go for it! I dyed my hair brown and it felt so healthy!

Sweetie I had the same problem! Since your hair is already a darker color, and given that this would be the first time in at least a while (if ever) that you've dyed your hair, it would sustain minimal damage :) I finally got the guts to dye my hair darker and I am so glad I did! Trust me, it'll look amazing on you! :)

I don't know if you're going to a professional or not, but if you're doing it by yourself, which btw, isn't difficult at all since you're doing something so simple, I recommend garnier nutrisse hair dye. It is very minimal damage, after I dyed my hair with it, I didn't feel any damage at all, but I was stuck with the typical hair dye smell, which is common.

I think dark brown would look gorg! Darken your hair is not really damaging for your hair. Use a good brant dye, and it will turn out fine :)
