So I've bitten my nails all my life, but I have decided to stop. I've been using fake nails to prevent myself from biting my real ones. Now that I've taken the fake nails off, my nails are PAPER thin. What can I use/do to make them thicker and stronger? I have biotin, but is there any kind of top coat or something I can put on them to strengthen them? I'm about to start getting manicures every two weeks as well.

I was in this same exact situation. I suggest either the ridge filling base coat from Essie, or possibly OPI's nail envy. I've tried the Essie one, but I think the OPI one might work as well. Good luck!

I wouldn't suggest Biotin unless you have a deficiency as it can cause health problems such as acne

Ok I'll ask my doctor if it's a good idea to take it. Thank you ladies! I'll try the Sally Hansen hard as nails :)

I agree with hard as nails. Until the damage has grown out you should keep them short though, as even with gardener they're still prone to breaking and shredding and causing more damage.
