I want to wear fake eyelashes for prom and it'll be my first time wearing them so I really need some tips/advice on how to put them on and which lashes and lash glue work best :)

I highly suggest Adrell lashes and Duo lash glue!
Make sure the lash fits your eye before attempting to apply it. If the lash doesn't fit them trim a little at a time until it does.
Apply your glue to the lash band and wait for the glue to get tacky before apply the lashes. If you don't wait for the glue to get tacky then the lashes are just going to slip and slide everywhere.
Place the lashes down as close to your lash line as possible, middle first and then tuck in the corners. Gently press the lash band down with your finger or end of your lash tool/tweezers and you're done!

Everything Alex said but if you need to trim them remember to trim them from the outside.

I wear falsies daily and I love red cherry lashes and flutter lashes.
they both last so long, I love them.
Flutter lashes is a bit expensive but ARE totally worth it (:
I recently bought the revlon strip on lash glue & it makes my lashes STAY on!
my tips are -
Let the glue dry on the lashes for about 30 seconds. Once the glue is tacky/sticky it will stick to the lids right away. (make sure you don't apply the falsies to your actual lashes)
using tweezers always helps with applying falsies. use them to hold down in the corner of the eyes and to move lashes around since your fingers can be too big to get where tweezers can.
Before applying lashes always remember to fit them onto your eyes, if they are too long TRIM THE EDGES!
if they are too long they will lift off the corners of your eyes which will make them come off.
when applying falsies don't apply them where your inner corner is, apply them where your actually lashes start! many people make mistakes of applying falsies to the inner corner of your eye. it will get very irritating if you don't put them where your lashes start.
Hope I helped, have fun also (:
