Are they clip ins? Sewn? Glued?
With clip ins, it's pretty self explanatory. Glue, no way to do this. With sew ins, I usually do my half up with a "low" or loose pony to hide the tracking. Hope this helps.

When I'm doing a ponytail out a half updo, I put the wefts that are going into it (just at the bottom layer of the ponytail, not the top) upside down. I don't know if that's the "proper" way, but they lay flatter and are easier to smooth down that way. For me at least. If you're styling to the side, place the wefts diagonally, low side opposite of the side you want to style.

Thanks Kailey that does help, thanks to the other girls I forgot to say they are clip ins but I have long thin hair so the wefts closer to the top of my head can be seen if I do any hair style! Which is annoying
